At SS Collective, our work is fueled by a steadfast commitment to empowering local leaders to design and deliver sustainable, community-driven childcare solutions. We believe in fostering growth that evolves with communities, scaling impact through collective action and ensuring that every initiative is rooted in empowerment, resilience and lasting change. The SS Collective technical team has played a pivotal role in advancing Islamic childcare practices as part of Kenya’s broader care reform agenda. Drawing on deep expertise in child protection, family strengthening and systems change, some members of the team have contributed individually to landmark projects that integrate Kafaalah — a culturally and religiously rooted form of family-based care — into national frameworks and community practice.
Through collaboration with faith-based institutions, government agencies and development partners, the team has individually and broadly supported the design of policies, training programs and advocacy initiatives that ensure childcare practices, including Islamic ones, are recognized, respected and embedded within sustainable care systems. Their work reflects a commitment to bridging cultural values with evidence-informed strategies, empowering local organizations to deliver solutions that are both impactful and enduring.
